StudioCanal has unveiled another look at Romeo Beckham in Forty Love, the queer tennis drama marking his feature film debut.

The newly released image gives another glimpse of Beckham alongside Paul Kircher, who stars as 21-year-old tennis player Sacha Gallo. It follows the first official image of the pair released earlier this year.

Directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, Forty Love centres on Sacha, who has been trained by his father with the ambition of winning his first major title in Paris. His carefully controlled world is disrupted by the arrival of a new rival, played by Beckham.

What is Forty Love about?

According to the film’s official synopsis, Sacha is faced with an opponent of an entirely different nature: love. The romantic drama explores the relationship between ambition, performance and intimacy within the world of professional tennis.

Beckham’s character is described as a charismatic new rival who challenges Sacha’s understanding of competition and himself.

The film is Beckham’s first major acting role, following his previous careers in football and modelling, which has seen him work with fashion houses including Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Burberry.

He will also be acting in both English and French, according to French reports on the production.

Beckham is joined by an established French cast, including Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin, while Catherine Deneuve also appears in the film. Kircher, meanwhile, is known for films including The Animal Kingdom and Winter Palace.

When can I watch Forty Love?

Forty Love is Carlotti’s first feature as a director. Before moving into filmmaking, he built a career as a fashion photographer, working with major names and brands including Saint Laurent and Jimmy Choo. The film was shot in the south of France, including locations around Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, as well as Paris and the Paris region.

The production is led by Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary for Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, with Studiocanal and Manna Studios also co-producing. The score comes from musician 070 Shake and composer Johan Lenox.

Forty Love is due to arrive in French cinemas on 25 November 2026, with an international release to follow.
