Rick Owens puckers up for his first summer collaboration with Moncler
The designer’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection reimagines Berlin’s brutalist architecture in leather and nylon
Moncler might be synonymous with alpine outerwear, but that doesn’t mean it’s a winter exclusive. In an unprecedented move, Rick Owens is proving the brand’s puffed-up pedigree suits the summer months with his first Spring/Summer 2026 collection.
First teaming up in 2020, Owens is no stranger to reimagining Moncler’s down-filled jackets. The godfather of gothic avant-garde has steadily warped the brand’s high-performance DNA through his own brutalist lens.

This season he looked to Berlin’s imposing concrete architecture juxtaposed by the city’s green spaces for inspiration. Owens went so far as to coin the term “brucolic” (a portmanteau of brutalist and bucolic) to describe the collection.
So, what does “brucolic” style look like? In true Owens fashion, sculptural outerwear is rendered in supple leather and technical nylon. Padded proportions mirror the designer’s mainline collections, while light weight windbreakers and relaxed jerseys ground the wardrobe.

The accompanying campaign, dubbed by Owens as “PROMOTING UNLIMITED LOVE”, puts intimacy at the forefront. Famed fashion photographer Juergen Teller shot the series, bringing his unmistakably raw and intimate eye to the campaign.
Featuring Owens and his wife and muse Michèle Lamy alongside Teller and his creative partner Dovile Drizyte, the images capture a celebration of connection and desire as each model swaps partners in a lip-locking exercise.

Whether or not it makes you want to lock lips in a puffer, the Moncler x Rick Owens Spring/Summer 2026 collection proves that performance wear can be provocative and poetic.
