Tory hopeful suspended after likening Aids to weaponised semen

A Conservative council candidate has been suspended for tweeting homophobic and anti-Semitic tweets.
Aspiring Tory councillor George Stoakley, 23 – who was standing in the Cambridgeshire county council election – is the latest party member to have old tweets brought into the public eye.
In a series of tweets, George wrote that he was: “sweating like a Jew in an attic” and even likened Aids to “weaponised semen”.
Since then his tweets have been made private but a Conservative spokesperson has now revealed the candidate has been suspended and an inquiry is under way.
The young hopeful was chosen by the party to stand in the Fen Ditton and Fulbourn ward.
Despite being suspended, the deadline for withdrawing a candidate has already passed so his name will still appear on ballot papers.
This news comes just days after Matthew Clarke was suspended from the party for saying LGBT+ people deserve the death penalty, in a blog post.
