Steve Grand accepts gay marine’s invitation to the Marine Corps ball

By Shaun Kitchener

Out singer Steve Grand has responded to a gay marine who asked him to be his date at the Marine Corps ball this November – and it’s good news!

It seems Tanner White, whose plea has racked up over 84,000 plays on YouTube, will be accompanied by Grand to the North Carolina bash after the country-popstar posted a video of his own last night.

He said: “I wanna say I’m honoured to accept your invitation to be your date at the Marine Corps Ball this November. Thank you so much for your service to this country and I look forward to a really fun evening with you.”

In White’s adorable video, he’d asked: “This video is for the all-American boy, Steve Grand. Steve, you are an amazing singer. I’ve seen some of your blog videos and they were awesome. I would like for you to go with me to the 2015 Marine Corps ball in Wilmington, North Carolina as my date. Hopefully you say yes. If not, it was worth a shot.”

He’s now posted a follow-up, gleefully saying: “It’s your favourite positive Marine here: I’d like to thank Steve Grant for accepting my invitation to the ball. I’m very excited and I’m looking forward to a great time.”

Take lots of pictures please, boys.
