By Will Stroude

A new television advert by Lloyds Banks prominently features a same-sex couple in the midst of a romantic proposal.

The new ad, which was first aired last Friday (March 12), is titled ‘For Your Next Step’, and features freeze frames of a variety of people in various stages of life – including a new mother, a man dropping his daughter off at school, an elderly woman attending a funeral and the aforementioned couple, one of whom is down on one knee.

The new campaign is also set to run in cinemas and in print, with one follow-up ad giving us the new we were all hoping for…

“We’ve adopted a contemporary and distinctive approach, focusing on the diverse and sometimes challenging moments in the lives of our customers today.”
