Jeremy Clarkson claims he isn’t homophobic because he enjoys watching lesbian on the internet.
The Grand Tour host faced backlash online after openly gay singer Will Young criticised a new episode of the Amazon Prime programme which he dubbed ‘pathetic’ for using gay jokes in a series of tweets.
In the two-part episode, Clarkson, Hammond, and May poke fun at a 4×4 Jeep Wrangler for being a stereotypically “gay” vehicle, with Clarkson branding it an “LGB-Jeep”.
Later in the episode, ‘It’s Raining Men’ plays on the Jeep’s stereo, prompting Hammond tells Clarkson: “Think of it as advertising.”
But now, Clarkson – who was fired from the BBC three years ago after punching a producer because he wasn’t offered a steak for dinner – has defended his so-called pro-LGBT stance claiming he loves lesbian porn.
In his column in The Sun, Clarkson wrote: “Many gay people who’d seen the show said they couldn’t see a problem.
“None of my leftie friends could either. One even said I should tell him to stop being so gay. I won’t do that though.
“And nor will I suggest, once again, that mobile phones should be fitted with breathalysers to stop people drinking and tweeting.
“No. Instead, I will apologise to Will for causing him some upset and reassure him that I know I’m not homophobic as I very much enjoy watching lesbians on the internet.”
In the episode, Clarkson also references the backlash to comments by Hammond made on the show in 2016, when the TV personality said that eating ice cream was ‘gay’, by jokingly eating an ice cream in the vehicle.
