Influencer posing as gay escort says he named Republican figures – but video has been removed

US social media creator Nick Pringle has claimed he named individuals connected to his undercover exposé at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention – but the video has since been removed.
Pringle, who attended the RNC’s convention in Dallas earlier this month posing as a gay escort, had teased a second instalment of his investigation.
He previously said he would use Grindr to uncover Republican politicians who push an anti-LGBTQ+ agenda and engage in same-sex activity.

Posting to Instagram yesterday (22 September), Pringle issued an update on his exposé, claiming the violent comments have now reached his loved ones.
“I’ve been fielding a lot of death threats. My family has been getting a lot of death threats. This has been a delicate situation. But don’t worry, I’m going to be naming names in this video.”
Due to the length of the post, Pringle claimed the individuals involved will not be named until “part 2”, which was posted last night and has since been removed from his page.

“I shouldn’t have gone alone,” said Pringle. “I should have definitely had backup,” adding that he should have prepared more.
Grindr took him by surprise, explaining that he thought it would be like Tinder. “I was trying to learn on the fly. And the RNC did not last that long.” He explained that a lot of the profiles he encountered were blank. “It was really hard to tell who was there for the RNC.”
Speaking cryptically, he said he learnt a lot and will be more prepared for “next time”. He described the experience as “genuinely scary”, explaining: “These are people who have and will kill to keep this secret.”
Pringle says others will join him next time
His reason for documenting it online was to provide a level of safety, admitting that his whereabouts would be known by his followers.
Pringle said others have reached out to him with an interest in joining him in his exposé, admitting that next time, he won’t be alone.
The Republican National Committee’s midterm convention also went viral for displaying a picture of left-wing political commentator Hasan Piker in his underwear on one of the overhead screens.
The photo formed part of a longer video featuring attacks on Democrats and figures on the political left.
