Taylor Zakhar Perez reportedly joins Netflix’s 13 Going on 30 reboot

Taylor Zakhar Perez, Red, White & Royal Blue star, has reportedly joined Netflix’s upcoming reboot of 13 Going on 30.

An official release date for Netflix’s reboot of the 2004 cult classic has not yet been announced, but fans are already sold on the new cast.

According to Just Jared, the American actor joins a star-studded line-up including Jessica Alba, Logan Lerman, Emily Bader and Adeline Rudolph.

What is 13 Going on 30 about?

The original 13 Going on 30 starred Jennifer Garner as Jenna Rink, a 13-year-old girl who magically wakes up as her 30-year-old self – a fashion editor living in 2004.

But what really stole the show, aside from Garner’s nostalgic performance, was her character’s fashion choices. The iconic dress from 13 Going on 30, originally from the Versace Spring 2003 collection, has become a Halloween staple.

Featuring a plunging neckline, a garish multicoloured striped pattern and a fitted bodycon silhouette, the dress embraces pure noughties nostalgia.

The film was announced in March, when Netflix confirmed Bader and Lerman would front a new version of the 2004 romantic comedy.

Garner has been revealed to return as an executive producer on the reboot, with Brett Haley directing the film from a script by writer Hannah Marks.

Speaking to Netflix, Haley said: “13 Going on 30 is one of those rare, perfect films… Funny, emotional, [and] deeply human, with unforgettable performances from Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer.”

“I’m a longtime fan, so stepping into this reimagining comes with tremendous responsibility. Jennifer Garner being on board as an executive producer, after playing such a big part of what made the original special, is especially meaningful.”

As reported by Hollywood Life, filming began in late June and is expected to conclude in August 2026.

Netflix has not revealed any plot details for the 13 Going on 30 reboot, and the roles each actor will play remain under wraps.

Perez has recently wrapped filming on the upcoming sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue, titled Red, White & Royal Wedding.

Filming took place in London, with Perez and his co-star Nicholas Galitzine reprising their roles for the sequel.

Based on Casey McQuiston’s 2019 novel of the same name, the upcoming film will see Princess Beatrice (Bea) marry her long-time girlfriend Catherine (Cat), with Alex and Henry in attendance.

The official release date for Red, White & Royal Wedding has not yet been announced.
