Attitude is delighted to announce that RuPaul’s Drag Race royalty Ross Mathews is to host the 2019 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar.

Returning to London’s iconic Camden Roundhouse and now in its eighth year, the Attitude Awards will be the UK LGBTQ community’s 2019 calendar highlight – and steering 600 black tie guests through dinner, 13 awards and three live performances will be the US TV stalwart.

The identities of the award winners will, as ever, be a closely-guarded secret until the big night and the publication of a bumper Awards issue of Attitude the following morning – but as Ross follows the footsteps of 2018 host Andy Cohen he can expect to preside over a cast as glittering as last year’s ensemble which included George Takei, Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Enninful OBE, Idris Elba, Ricky Martin and Little Mix.

On returning to London to host the Attitude Awards 2019, Mathews – who appears on the cover of Attitude’s October issue, available to download and to order globally now – says: “It’s about time someone let me live my full Cover Girl fantasy. Leave it to the Brits to be smart enough to launch my modelling career.

“I can’t wait to come to town to host the 2019 Attitude Awards! London, are you ready for this jelly?!?”

Darren Styles OBE, Publisher and Managing Director of Attitude magazine, said: “We created the Attitude Awards to showcase the very best of the global LGBTQ community – to give a platform to those role models who demonstrate so clearly that who you are, or how you identify, is no barrier to what you might become.

“Consequently, we pride ourselves on attracting the very best talent both for the benefit of the show on the night and those with whom we share in print, digital, online or social formats.

“Our 2019 host, Ross Mathews, is no exception – everyone’s favourite judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race and a genuine funnyman as open and warm as he is generous.

“We are delighted to have him steer our winners into safe harbor, and can’t wait to share another incredible evening.”

Previous Attitude Awards hosts have included US chat show legend Andy Cohen, Olympian Tom Daley, actor Alan Cumming, comedian Matt Lucas, Scissor Sister Ana Matronic and BBC journalist and presenter Evan Davis.
