Virgin Trains renames Wolverhampton station ‘Wolverine’

Virgin Trains and X-Men: Days of Future Past teamed up today to surprise commuters in Wolverhampton for April Fool’s Day.
Locals discovered that their town train station had been renamed ‘Wolverine’ this morning, as part of Virgin Trains’ partnership with the new Marvel film.
Network Rail also got in on the fun by referring to the station as ‘Wolverine’ in public service announcements at London Euston Station throughout the morning.
Chris Green, Twentieth Century Fox UK’s Theatrical Marketing Director, said: “This fun piece of April Fools activity really helps bring the film to life in an exciting and different way, with one of the franchise’s favourite characters, ahead of the release of X-Men Days of Future Past on 22nd May.”
Meanwhile, a Virgin Pendolino train was officially named after the forthcoming sci-fi film at London Euston, with stars Hugh Jackman and James McAvoy making an appearance before it made its inaugural journey to Birmingham.

Today marks an exciting day for Virgin Trains as we officially unveil this spectacular X-Men train which is going to be travelling up and down the country for the next four months!”
