Tia Kofi among hosts at Virgin Radio UK’s first LGBTQ station

Tia Kofi has been announced as one of the hosts joining a brand new LGBTQ radio station from Virgin Radio UK.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star, 30, will be among the presenters fronting shows when Virgin Radio Pride UK arrives on the airwaves next Monday (7 June).

The station will broadcast until the end of September and promises to uses its programming to address vital issues such as “trans-rights, gay adoption issues, living with HIV and helping parents understand LGBTQ+ issues” during a summer of virtual and in-person Pride festivals.

“I’m so excited to be part of the launch for this incredible new LGBTQ+ station”, says Tia, who since departing the workroom has begun carving out a pop career with the release of singles ‘Outside In’ and ‘Look What You’ve Done’.

“We have created something made by queer people for queer people and beyond, and it’s going to be amazing!

“Get ready for the ultimate Friday night pre-party with me, as well as some sensational content from across the LGBTQ+ community.”

Other LGBTQ presenters joining Virgin Radio Pride UK include Emma Goswell, Matt Cain, Debbie Ryan, Phil Clifton, Shivani Dave, Vicki Blight and Stephen Sullivan.

Virgin Radio UK Content Director, Mike Cass said: “From June 7 until mid-September, Virgin Radio Pride UK will broadcast stories from our community, by our community in one big audio festival. 

“I’m delighted to have partnered with so many wonderful organisations to create a radio space for LGBTQ+ celebration and storytelling.

“We will make you laugh, occasionally make you cry, but most importantly make you proud.”

Virgin Radio Pride UK will be available to listen to from 7 June until the end of September on DAB in London, online or via the Virgin Radio app.
