Sarah Paulson’s new ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ character revealed

The actress is set to play three characters in the upcoming eighth season

Sarah Paulson’s new character in American Horror Story: Apocalypse has been revealed.

Series creator Ryan Murphy sent fans into a frenzy in June after revealing that season 8 of the horror anthology series is set to crossover with 2011’s Murder House and 2013’s Coven

And since then, a number of actors have been confirmed to be returning to the anthology series, including the legend Jessica Lange – who left the show after season four Freak Show.

Series regular, Paulson, was also confirmed to be reprising two of her roles – Cordelia from Coven and Billie Dean Howard from Murder House – but she was also set to play a new character called Venable.

Not much is known about her new character but in the newest teaser trailer, which was released yesterday (August 22), we finally got a glimpse of her.

In the trailer, she walks out of the darkness and starts to turn a spin wheel while looking directly at the camera.

She then says: “Now is your chance to be one of the few remaining. This is your chance to survive. We’ll find you soon.”

From what we know about the season, it will follow an older Michael Langdon – the child of Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) and Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) – aka the Anti-Christ on his quest to destroy the planet.

As always, Murphy has been quiet on the actual plot but it appears Venable will be on Michael’s side and they will go head to head against the Coven of witches.

Emma Roberts is set to reprise her role as Coven’s scene-stealing Madison Montgomery, the coke-addled Hollywood starlet and witch who tore through Miss Robichaux’s Academy like a telekinetic Regina George on steroids back in 2013.

Kathy Bates and Cheyenne Jackson will also be returning to the highly anticipated season alongside Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd and Adina Porter.

It’s also known that Dame Joan Collins will be joining the cast and this week Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Kyle Allen will also be starring as guest roles in the new series.

The new series is set to be released on September 12 this year.
