The groundbreaking LGBT series is getting a second season
Ryan Murphy’s ground-breaking LGBT show has been renewed for a second season.
The show, which is set in 1980s New York City, is just over halfway through its eight-episode run in the US and made history for featuring the highest number of trans actors in series regular roles on a TV show.
The news was announced in a tweet on the official PoseFX Twitter page on Thursday (July 12).
The tweet read: “We’ve got amazing news. Get ready to snatch more trophies and tissues because season 2 is coming!”

Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator, also tweeted about the announcement, writing: “The category is: SECOND SEASON.
“Congrats to the cast and crew of @PoseOnFX who worked so hard to make history. And a special thank you to John Landgraf at FX and Dana Walden at Fox for believing in this special project and this community so much.”

Despite winning legions of critical acclaim and a 96% ‘certified fresh’ rating on aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the show has yet to be picked up by a UK broadcaster.
Meanwhile, actor Jeremy McClain, who plays gay dancer Cubby Abundance, believes the series has the ability to “save lives”.
He told OUT: “Pose is so important because it can change lives and even save lives by showing LGBTQ people of colour on-screen.”
“I feel honoured to be part of the show and to be given this opportunity by Ryan Murphy and his team to represent such a marginalised community.”
He added: “They’re finally getting the chance to tell the world their story.”
Pose continues in the US on Sundays on FX.
