The Pride in Education conference is to return for its third edition this June, organisers have confirmed.

The global equality inclusion conference is aimed at educators, teachers, publishers, and anyone looking to make education more inclusive.

Taking place online on 11-13 June 2021, the event will feature 48 speakers from four continents over three days, examining best practice aspects across education: from primary to university level.

“This conference was put together to ensure LGBTQ+ people continue to be visible and celebrated”

Conference organiser Laila El-Metoui commented: “The ongoing pandemic has serious implications for the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people. School closures and lockdown have negatively impacted everyone but even more so LGBTQ+ people trapped in homophobic and transphobic households.

“It is of the utmost importance that teachers and educators continue to provide inclusive and compassionate education. This conference was put together to ensure LGBTQ+ people continue to be visible and celebrated.”

Attendees can expect panel discussions, live Q&As, presentations from researchers and academics, plus practical workshops covering curriculum design and content, wellbeing, and self-care. All event sessions are free of charge.

The conference is supported by partners including Zoom, myGwork and Trans in the City. Fashion designer Daniel Lismore is opening the event on 11 June.
