Madonna will co-write and direct her own biopic

Madonna’s blond ambition knows no bounds as it is announced that she will co-write and direct her own biopic – however, there is no news on which ‘Lucky Star’ will play her.

The queen of pop has joined forces with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno) and producer Amy Pascal to create a film on her rise to stardom.

In the summer, Madge, 62, teased on Instagram that she had been putting pen to paper during writing sessions with Diablo.

“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being trying to making her way in this world,” she said in a statement.

“The focus of this film will always be music. Music has keep me going and art has kept me alive. There are many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the rollercoaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”

Born Madonna Louise Ciccone, the best-selling female artist of all time – 335 million records worldwide and counting – previously criticised plans for a mooted screenplay, Blond Ambition, that she had no involvement with.

“Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and fool,” she said at the time.

Madonna first got ‘Into the Groove’ as a director with 2008’s Filth and Wisdom, which she then followed up with period drama W.E.

The as-yet-untitled project – snapped up by Universal Pictures – follows in the footsteps of Bohemian Rhapsody, about Queen legend Freddie Mercury, and Rocketman, inspired by Sir Elton John.
