Australian pro rugby player Kurt Capewell has addressed his appearance in a gay porn video filmed seven years ago.

Capewell – who plays second-row forward and centre for the Penrith Panthers in the NRL – claims he was tricked into the appearance when he was “young and naive”.

The now-27-year-old said he was invited to partake in an underwear shoot but was allegedly then persuaded to perform a sex act with an unseen model.

When photos and clips of the video began circulating on social media, Capewell notified the National Rugby League and his teammates.

“I’ve had to learn the hard way”

“The organiser used inducements and extra money for being involved in the adult film,” Capewell told the Daily Telegraph.

“I take full responsibility for what happened.

“My message to young people is to be really careful when being offered money for photoshoots. It’s not the person I am today. I’ve had to learn the hard way. I hope others don’t have to go through what I have endured.”

In his text to teammates, Capewell said he was “embarrassed and ashamed” by the video. He explained: “Bit hard to put the full story into words but I was broke and doing some modeling, then I got talked into doing an [adult film].

“Unknown to me but it turned out they put a bloke on the other side of the wall. I’m terribly embarrassed and ashamed even though it happened when I was so young.”

Penrith second-rower Liam Martin said [as per Daily Mail] there was “no questioning from the boys,” adding: “We didn’t know his circumstances from eight years ago. We were all like, ‘yeah mate, we’ve got your back’.”

His father Darryl told the publication: “We’ve known about it. He’s lived with it, he’s definitely a victim. He made a silly mistake as a young fella and he’s had to live with it.”

He added: “It will be a relief to get it off his shoulders. They clearly groom people pretty well. He’s usually a pretty level headed boy, but he has been a mental wreck for seven years – it’s a big burden.”

Capewell’s video was with All Australian Boys, described on its website as celebratingthe unassuming natural beauty, attraction and sizzling sexuality of young Australian males athletes and sportsmen.

“AAB feature real Australian Athletes, mostly straight boys! Not dress up fakes. Many of the boys do solo jerk off shots while watching straight porn. While others get expertly gloryhole sucked while watching lesbian porn. We welcome your membership.”

Attitude has approached All Australian Boys for comment.

Update: All Australian Boys denied the allegations when contacted by Attitude.
