Oh, Mary!’s Alaska spills Drag Race All Stars regrets, life lessons and unappealing habits (EXCLUSIVE)
Drag icon, recording artist and star of the upcoming Oh, Mary! US national tour, Alaska takes on Attitude’s quickfire questionnaire

Alaska Thunderfuck, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, Off-Broadway star and, undeniably, one of the biggest names in American drag, is reaching new heights. From 19 September 2026 through to 17 January 2027, the queen will take on the role of the newly minted queer icon Mary Todd Lincoln in the first-ever Oh, Mary! North American tour, alongside Tony Award winner J. Harrison Ghee as Abraham Lincoln, her husband.
Before slipping into the character’s signature curls and hoop skirt, Alaska spoke with Attitude for our quickfire “Who Is She?” quiz extravaganza. So, what animal would Alaska come back as? What’s her biggest regret? And, perhaps most importantly, who is she?
Attitude: Your idea of perfect happiness?
Alaska Thunderfuck: Peace, really. Being at home with my dogs, my husband and my family, with a big roast dinner in front of us and nowhere else I need to be.
The first album you bought?
The Sign by Ace of Base was given to me as a Christmas present, along with a tape player. I played that on repeat for so long, until I got a CD player and got Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt and Secrets by Toni Braxton, and those became my life.
Your most extravagant purchase?
When I first became a Ru girl, Detox took me to the Louis Vuitton store, and I bought a pair of very expensive boots. I still have them and wear them today.
When did you last cry?
We saw the musical Pride in London, and we were crying before the show even started. It’s so good. It’s completely sold out and impossible to get into, but if you can, please do.
Your greatest regret?
Not having more fun on All Stars. I didn’t realise it would be my last time in that strange pink room, and I think I would’ve just loosened up and had more fun. But that was hard to do.
Your most embarrassing moment?
It was on TV. You’ve probably seen it.
When and where were you happiest?
Probably now, in my life. The one benefit of age is that you can get perspective on the things that actually matter. I’m very lucky to be alive and I feel good.
What do you most deplore in others?
Greed. I think the Earth would be literally a lovely place to live if the greedy people stopped being so fucking greedy.
Your most unappealing habit?
I have to watch The Simpsons at night to fall asleep. I don’t think that’s unappealing, though. And my fiancée doesn’t mind either.
What do you like the most about your appearance?
My hands are very expressive. And my limbs are very long, and I’m very tall, which is fun for being on stage.
If you could spend a day anywhere in history, where would it be?
A Whitney Houston concert. I live for videos of her live performances. This was pre-AutoTune, pre-wondering if what you’re seeing and hearing is actually happening. Every time she did a song, it was different and in the moment.
Which animal would you like to be reborn as?
A horse – but not a riding horse, or a captive horse. I’d like to be a wild horse, just running around and eating grass and berries all day.
What keeps you awake at night?
The end of the world. I’m concerned about the fact that staying alive is too expensive and too hard for literally everyone. Why must it be this way? I wonder – when is the revolution coming?
Who was your first crush?
Gwen Stefani. I had a picture of her in my locker in middle school.
The most important lesson life has taught you?
Don’t be an asshole. It seems simple, but it’s easy to lose your way and lose sight of what’s important.
What’s the one thing about Mary Todd Lincoln you relate to?
When I was a child, I dreamed I would grow up and become a woman who sings to rooms full of people. And I guess that came true. I think Mary had the same kind of dreams.
