Luke Evans marks Pride with moving rendition of Queen classic alongside Welsh National Opera – WATCH

This makes us proud to be Welsh, and we're not even Welsh.

Luke Evans has helped mark Pride by teaming up with the Welsh National Opera for a moving rendition of Queen’s ‘Who Wants to Live Forever’.

The video, which was released to mark what would have been Pride Cymru last weekend, sees Beauty and the Beast star Evans, 41, tackle the classic 1986 track made famous by Freddie Mercury.

Evans, who proved his musical chops with the release of his debut album, At Last, last year, recorded his vocals from Australia, with the footage laid over iconic shots of Wales as members of the Welsh National Opera join him over video call (what else?!).

The results make for emotional viewing and listening.

Rob Keetch, Patron & Entertainment Manager at Pride Cymru says: “We have wanted to work with the prestigious Welsh National Opera for years and are thrilled that this year on our 21st birthday, we’ve managed to do so. Not only that but to have the wonderfully talented Luke Evans add his voice, literally, to our celebration and to this beautiful Queen track is incredible.”
