A never-heard-before collaboration between Madonna and rapper Eve has leaked online.

The track, produced by Pharrell Williams, is titled The Beat Is So Crazy and was originally intended for the Queen of Pop’s 2008 album Hard Candy, VIBE reports.

However, when the track didn’t make the final cut, Eve picked it up for an album she was working on that was later scrapped – which is why the track has remained locked up in the vaults until now.

The version that has leaked is a midtempo R&B jam which features Eve on the verses and Madonna singing a chorus which goes: “The beat is so crazy / It makes me want to let go / And totally forget today / I’m better off anyway.” Pharrell makes a brief appearance towards the end.

Madonna’s Hard Candy album, which featured tracks produced by Pharrell Williams and Timbaland, was released in April 2008 and debuted at Number One in the US and the UK. Its lead single, 4 Minutes, was her last – to date – Number One single in the UK.

Meanwhile, the Queen of Pop turned 56 on Saturday (August 16) and we celebrated by compiling a list of 56 reasons we love her – check it out here.
