Lily Allen turned down ‘Game of Thrones’ role over incest

Lily Allen has revealed she turned down a role on Game of Thrones playing opposite her brother Alfie after deciding the role involved “too much incest”.

In a Reddit Ask Me Anything session yesterday (May 14), the Air Balloon singer said she was approached about appearing as Yara Greyjoy, the on-screen sister of Alfie Allen’s character Theon Greyjoy.

“They asked me if I’d be interested in playing Theon’s sister, and I felt uncomfortable because I would have had to go on a horse and he would have touched me up and shit,” she wrote.

“Once they told me what was entailed, I said no thanks.”

Now played by Gemma Whelan, Yara Greyjoy is fondled by brother Theon before the pair discover that they are related. Allen admitted she’s finding her “gifted” brother’s scenes “very difficult to watch”.

Despite turning down the role, the 28-year-old admitted she would be “open to” doing a musical cameo on the hit HBO show “like Sigur Rós”, who appeared as a wedding band during a recent episode.

Allen hit the top spot on the UK’s Official Albums Chart last Sunday (May 11) with third LP Sheezus, outselling nearest rival Gary Barlow by over 10,000 copies.
