Lady Gaga to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show

By Will Stroude

Following weeks of speculation, it’s been revealed that Lady Gaga will headline the 51st Super Bowl’s halftime show next year.

Mother Monster will follow in the footsteps of stars like Bruce Springsteen and Madonna when she takes to the stage at Houston’s NRG Stadium on 5 February 2017, leaving fans wondering which of her mammoth hits will make it into the final set list of what’s sure to be an eye-popping show.

Confirmed the news on Twitter last night, Gaga wrote: “It’s not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!”

The performance will mark the second year in a row that the Super Bowl has featured a performance from the ‘Perfect Illusion’ singer, who blew crowds away with a stunning rendition of the national anthem last year.

The ‘Perfect Illusion’ singer, who’s set to release fifth studio album Joanne next month, later posted a picture of herself on Instagram wearing an NFL t-shirt and the eye-catching pink hat that features in the artwork for her new record.

“It’s a done deal! I can’t wait to rock for YOU from Houston! Thank you Football fans and Music fans LET’S DO THIS!” the 30-year-old wrote.

‘Perfect Illusion’ is out now, with Gaga’s fifth studio album Joanne set for worldwide release on October 21.
