Katie Hopkins blasts Russell T. Davies for his gay adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream

creator, Russell T. Davies, was asked by the BBC to adapt A Midsummer Night’s Dream and give it a “modern twist.” The adaptation now includes same-sex partners and a lesbian kiss.

Speaking about the production Davies said, “It’s 2016; that’s the world now. Only idiots might have a problem with that.”

But, according to The Gay UK, it seems that someone does have a problem with it and it’s none other than Katie Hopkins.

“Before the LGBT community start running for a safe place, be reassured I fully support the right of everyone to be whatever they like,” she writes in her Daily Mail column. “Even if that is a man, dressed as a woman, who identifies as gender neutral but still fancies his mum.”

The former Apprentice star continues, “I hope my son will be gay. He can dance and is proud of his six-pack at seven, which I am taking as a positive sign. I play Kylie to him in the kitchen to show him the way.”

Hopkins dislikes the ‘modern’ changes made in the adaptation, saying:

“I don’t want Shakespeare queered-up so you feel more at home. And if you’ve got a problem with that, I couldn’t give a flying Puck.”

If that isn’t enough for you, earlier this week she promised to streak down Regent Street with a sausage up her bum if Sadiq Khan was elected mayor.
