John Partridge set for ‘explosive’ return to Eastenders

By Ben Kelly

John Partridge will return to Eastenders this summer in an explosive storyline which looks set to rock the Beale family.

Patridge’s character Christian Clarke will be back with his mother Linda (played by Lynda Baron), who is also the mother of Jane Beale.

The Eastenders press team today promised a “shocking storyline” which is “set to change the Beale family forever.”

The character of Christian first appeared in Walford in 2008.

He was in a civil partnership with Syed Masood (played by Marc Elliott), who struggled to come to terms with being gay as a Muslim. Patridge left the soap full time in 2012 when Elliott did, with the two characters apparently living in the U.S.

He was last on screen in 2015 when he attended the wedding of Ian and Jane as part of the 30th anniversary live week. Now it seems Christian will reappear again, not with Syed, but with his mother.

Partridge is quoted as saying, “I am thrilled to be able to return to EastEnders whilst touring the UK with Chicago… Christian is never far from my mind – I turn my back for five minutes and look what happens!”

Christian and Linda are set to return to Albert Square early this summer.
