In a piece of Absolutely Fabulous news the one and only Dame Joanna Lumley is reportedly set to appear as a judge on the next season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

The Ab Fab star, icon, and national treasure will join the judging panel for a special episode, the Daily Star reports.

A source told the paper: “Execs have been trying to get Joanna on the show for years. The pandemic caused a delay, but finally it has worked out.

“Everyone is so excited that they managed to make it happen. Joanna is easily one of the best signings in the show’s history.”

Dame Lumley, 76, has a glittering career spanning decades in the entertainment industry, from soaps and documentaries to a one-woman theatre show.

“Joanna has done it all. If anyone can dish out handy advice to contestants, it’s got to be her,” The Daily Star’s insider continues.

“She knows how to make it in the industry and stay at the top of your game for decades.”

It is reported Lumley already filmed her episode earlier this year.

Spice Girl Mel B, Alison Hammond, Tess Daly, and AJ Odudu are among other judges rumored to be joining RuPaul and Michelle Visage on the new season which is set to air on BBC Three this autumn.

Lumley has spoken previously about her connection with queer people, last year she said of the LGBTQ community: “I’ve never been made more welcome in my life.”
