Anton Du Beke says it’d be hard to judge same-sex couples on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

Anton Du Beke said it would be hard to judge a same-sex couple on Strictly Come Dancing.

The professional dancer has been a long-standing regular on the BBC ballroom and latin dance competition and for the first time in the show’s history there will be same-sex dance routines performed by the professional dancers.

However, Anton believes same-sex couples dancing isn’t the same as male/female partners but said he would happily give it a go.

He told BANG Showbiz: “We’ll have to wait and see if it’s ever a thing.

“My only thing about it is how they would judge it. It would be interesting to see how they’re going to judge it.

“If you’ve got a same-sex couple, you’ve got two girls dancing together or two fellas dancing together, it’s not the same as a boy and girl dancing together.

“So, from a prospective of judging it they’d have to find a criteria way of doing it. Once they’ve done that I think it could potentially happen, but we’ll have to wait and see.

“If they give me a fella I’d give it a go, why not?”
