Connor Storrie’s SNL best bits: political hockey, dry humping, Hudson Williams and more

A stripper sketch, hockey-themed monologue, and a Heated Rivalry reunion cameo... what can't Storrie do?

Connor Storrie hosted Saturday Night Live on 28 February, going viral for his comedic performance and for bringing hockey teammates on and off screen to make cameo appearances.

The Heated Rivalry star’s highly anticipated stint did not disappoint, featuring a range of comedic sketches, a cameo from his co-star Hudson Williams, and several pointed political moments.

Streaming on Peacock over the weekend, and also available on YouTube via the official SNL channel, the episode featured musical guest Mumford & Sons – but not before Storrie set the tone for the evening.

Connor Storrie’s SNL opening monologue

Storrie’s opening monologue combined comedy and political humour, as he invited members of the United States women’s national ice hockey team to the SNL stage.

Men’s team players Jack Hughes and Quinn Hughes appeared first, followed by gold medalists Hilary Knight and Megan Keller.

The moment referenced controversy after Donald Trump joked about inviting the women’s team to the State of the Union after calling the men’s team following their Winter Olympics win.

The women’s entrance was welcomed with a loud applause from the audience, followed by Keller referencing Heated Rivalry: “Don’t worry, we saw your show.” And taking aim at Trump’s lack of invitation to the Sate of the Union, Knight quipped: “It was gonna be just us but we thought we’d invite the guys too.”

“Yeah, we thought we’d give them a little moment to shine.” Keller added. Hughes followed up with: “The last time the men did that (win gold) was 46 years ago.”

Storrie strips down during his SNL bachelorette party skit

Storrie also showed off his comedic and acting range on SNL, most notably in a bachelorette party sketch where he played an injured but determined Las Vegas stripper.

Attempting to entertain the party, Storrie entered in full plumber-style couture, dragging himself across the floor with a plunger toward the group of bachelorettes.

As the routine continued, he slowly began removing his clothes before one of the women pulled off his trousers to reveal a leopard-print speedo.

After collapsing to the floor, Storrie rolled across the stage before hauling himself back up and climbing legs-first onto one of the women in an attempt at an upside-down lap dance… we think.

Falling again, he continued the chaotic performance on the ground, successfully entertaining the party and the audience, finishing the routine with a floor twerk reminiscent of ‘WAP’ by Cardi B.

Heated Rivalry reunion as Hudson Williams features on SNL

Storrie’s Heated Rivalry co-star Hudson Williams also made a surprise appearance in a sketch set at the ice rink at Rockefeller Center.

The scene saw Williams and Storrie attending a bachelor party on the ice, skating back and forth and repeatedly interrupting a, somewhat, romantic marriage proposal.

“Who’s ready to skate their butts off,” Williams yelled as the pair tore across the rink… the chaos only escalated from there.

Williams also took to the stage during Storrie’s closing moments on SNL, where the pair hugged centre stage, giving viewers the much-anticipated Heated Rivalry reunion.

Storrie bares all on SNL… kinda

In a SNL Cut for Time sketch, Jane Wickline and Veronika Slowikowska performed a song about two women in an Uber on their way home from a girls night out.

The song, titled ‘The Car,’ humorously riffs on how modernised car door handles have become, so much so that the pair cannot escape the vehicle.

The sketch escalates when the women encounter the villainous ‘Big Car’ CEO, played by Storrie, who appears to have a fetish for door handles.

As Storrie approaches Wickline and Slowikowska, the women attempt to flee. When they finally leave his office, the door catches on his clothing, ripping his outfit off. Viewers are treated to an almost fully naked moment, with his manhood cleverly obscured by a sign on the door.
