Bros star Luke Macfarlane says he’d “absolutely” be up for a sequel in response to a joke made by his co-star and one of the film’s writers, Billy Eichner.

The film sees Luke and Billy star as Aaron and Bobby respectively, two men with commitment issues who try and figure out if they’re compatible with one another.

While in Australia on the international press tour for the film, Billy recently mentioned that Liam Hemsworth and Nick Jonas were due to have cameo roles in the film.

The two men would have starred as themselves starring in a film Bobby and Aaron see about two closeted gay men during the California gold rush.

Sadly Covid got in the way and Liam wasn’t able to leave Australia to film his one scene.

Billy then joked, “Maybe Bros 2,” in his interview with Yahoo.

**Warning: Spoiler Alert**

Speaking to Attitude on the red carpet for the UK launch of the film on Wednesday (26 October) Luke Macfarlane gave his thoughts on a sequel and whether he’d be up for it.

“I would, absolutely. I don’t know where we would find Aaron and Bobby… If we met them three years afterward or three months after when they have to reassess their relationship.”

Continuing Luke said the sequel would have to happen quicker than it took to make Bros.

“It has to happen soon because it took a long time to get to this point. I can imagine by the time we film Bros 2 I’ll be 50 and it’ll be a totally different movie.”

In his recent exclusive Attitude digital cover interview, Luke Macfarlane discusses the similarities he has with Aaron.

“Aaron’s somebody that thinks he has it all figured out. He thinks that having a good job, a nice apartment and a good body is all you need,” he said.

Luke also shared a deeper connection between himself and Aaron.

“There’s a moment in history that Aaron and myself lived through where sexual liberation doesn’t mean liberation. We got the right to go to a room full of shirtless guys and make out and take them home and not worry about getting sent to jail. That sexual liberation is important. And we did that. And Aaron’s out. But I think the other piece of it is the real work of the heart, to also feel love, and that is the harder part.”

Bros is available to watch in UK cinemas from today (Friday 28 October)
