The CIP is the Council’s 15 year plan to invest much-needed money into schools, homes and community facilities.   The Council may sell or redevelop properties that are out of date, expensive to maintain or are underused and difficult to access.  This will help generate funds that are not otherwise available to reinvest into improving other services and facilities.

The London Borough of Camden hope to raise £300 million through the CIP, which will help to build 3,050 new homes including 1100 council rented and 300 new shared ownership homes. This is the first time they have been able to build new council homes for rent for nearly 20 years. 1650 private homes are being marketed to local people first and will fund the new affordable housing.

The XY development at Maiden Lane estate will reinvigorate one of London’s great modernist housing schemes. Built in the 1970s, the estate is a significant piece of British architecture.

Designed by Benson and Forsyth Maiden Lane was part of a visionary master plan to create a thriving new community.   XY apartments will complement the classic design and bring major improvements to the public space and local area.

The XY apartments are only a short distance from central London, with extensive transport links on the doorstep, King’s Cross and St Pancras form London’s major transport hub.  Six tube lines from these stations give access to all corners of London and offer a gateway to the continent.

The apartments are smart, beautifully crafted spaces for modern living, with expansive balconies and huge windows with views over the city.

Councillor Phil Jones Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Transport and Planning – Camden Council says:  “The regeneration of Maiden Lane will give a great boost to an area with much history and a thriving local community.  It will provide modern shared, private and Camden rented homes.  New and improved open spaces, a new play area for children, cafe, retail and low cost employment space will also be included.”

XY Apartments: Prices from £450,000 for a one bedroom apartment. Available through Savills. Call 020 3320 8220. or visit savills.co.uk
