The hottest ever underwear campaigns (Numbers 5-1)

By Joseph Kocharian

As the new face of Calvin Klein’s #MyCalvins campaign, it may have all been about the Biebs this week (if you’ve not seen it yet, take a look here) but we thought it was the perfect time to take a look at our top 10 favourite celebrities who have given their faces – and other assets – to underwear launches in the past.

Check out Numbers 6-10 here, before taking a look at the top 5 below:

5. Cristiano Ronaldo

His home town recently put up a rather, ahem, flattering statue of him, but here the Real Madrid star is clearly on show: His underwear contributions not only include Armani – shot by Johan Renck – but more recently his new line CR7 campaign shot by photographger Rankin (we do love a man who can multi-task).

4. Rafael Nadal

The King of Clay and 9-tim French Open winner takes his winning formula to the camera with these amazing Armani adverts, shot by Steven Klein. His blue steel is on a level 10.

3. Mehcad Brooks

The Desperate Housewives star was the fourth piece of the Calvin Klein X puzzle (see our 10-6 countdown), joining fellow American actor Kellen Lutz in this campaign. The gay actor gives what America’s Next Top model would describe as the perfect ‘booty tooch.’

2. Mark Wahlberg

Sometimes the original is always the best. Aped by Nick Jonas last year, Marky-Mark defined the 90’s underwear campaign with the good ole  crotch grab that created legacy with photographer Herb Ritts. Two decades on though and he’s still got it.

1. David Beckham and Jamie Dornan

Now, don’t say we never treat you to anything. After a few, ahem, heated discussions, we just couldn’t decide between this pair – so we thought why not have both? David Beckham gets this spot as he has been giving us underwear joy for decades, whether it be for Armani (with Mert & Marcus) his own line at H&M. Jamie Dornan also joins him on top, as no matter how many films he does,  these images will forever be burned into our minds. And if you’re not happy that the two have had to share the spot, maybe do as we do and just imagine the pair fighting it out in their underwear.
