For the month of May, Attitude online will be showing off the best of the best of 2015’s sporting heroes. Here, we give you the low-down of Formula 1 star and Nicole Scherzinger’s former boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton…

Lewis1

Top Sporting Achievement: Lewis is the proud owner of two Formula One World Championships! He won his first back in 2008 and hustled for his second in 2014.

Better Half: Lewis has had an on/off relationship with former Pussycat Doll lead singer Nicole Scherzinger since 2007. Although as of February 2015 the pair seem to have called it quits once again.

Best Attribute: Definitely his abs! Lewis has been working out hard recently and the results speak for themselves…

Sporting Quote:  “I remember going to school wanting to be a driver, and now I’m here, it’s all such a whirlwind. It’s like you don’t ever want it to end.”

Special Weapon: Lewis has the quote ‘powerful beyond measure’ tattooed across his chest and on his back he has a huge cross encased in angel wings with the caption ‘still I rise’. He explains that he has to “rise above it, no matter what life throws at you”

Style: Lewis style has evolved from casual boy racer to a quirky/dapper male fashion role model.

Training Tip: Lewis trains to “quite an intense level because Formula 1 is so physical – the G-forces, the demands on your body. Your heart rate is 150, 160 through the whole race”

In The Game: He is known for his speed and his strong work ethic. He overcame obstacle after obstacle to become the youngest Formula one World Champion at the age of just 23.

Wins: 2003: Formula Renault 2.0 UK

2004: Bahrain Superprix

2005: Formula 3 Euro Series

2005: Masters of Formula 3

2005: GP2 Series

2008: Formula One

2014: Formula One

Attitude: “The results I get are not only from my raw ability because I study hard, I work hard to make notes about my tyres, about every single thing I do, which I’ve done since my days in Formula Three.”
