Nicki Minaj’s new single Pills N Potions is now online. Listen to it below.
The rapper/singer/wig-wearer said last month (April) that the tracks on her forthcoming third album The Pink Print are “back to my hip-hop roots”.
However, Pills N Potions, which will serve as the album’s lead single, turns out to be one of her poppier offerings – it’s an emotional midtempo ballad with rapped verses and an anthemic sung chorus.
It was produced by Dr Luke, who previously worked with Minaj on her 2012 hit Va Va Voom and several other tracks.
The Pink Print is due out later this year on a yet-to-be-announced date, and is also expected to feature the tracks Yasss Bish!! and Looking Ass N****s, both of which were unveiled earlier this year.
Minaj’s last album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, debuted at Number One in the UK and US upon its release in April 2012 – and spawned the gaybar-friendly dance bangers Starships and Pound the Alarm.
