Emma Bunton has dashed hopes of a Spice Girls reunion in two years’ time.

Earlier this year her former bandmate Melanie C hinted that the iconic girlband could reform in 2016 to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe.

“You might see a few of us having a little dance about on stage, no plans, but we’ll see what we can do for you,” Melanie C said in February.

However, Bunton spoke rather less positively about a possible reunion during an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women yesterday (May 15).

“I keep reading these rumours as well and the thing is, that one isn’t true,” she said . “We love being together and hanging out but no, there’s nothing in the pipeline as yet I’m afraid, so that’s a no-no.”

Bunton, who now co-hosts Heart Radio’s breakfast show, then added: “My little one is still only three years old. I can’t be going off on tour and doing stuff. We are all doing individual things. I’m on radio every single morning. It’s just not feasible at the moment.”

The Spice Girls last performed together at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, and previously reunited for a 47-date comeback tour called ‘The Return of the Spice Girls’ in 2007-8.
