Louis Vuitton has mastered rainwear for fluctuating forecasts
From yellow raincoats to weather-resistant suiting, the Spring/Summer 2027 Men’s Pre-Collection is exactly what we want to wear on drizzly days
When it comes to the travel wardrobe, Louis Vuitton knows it’s all about versatility. Pieces that work no matter where in the world you are or what weather follows.
That ethos continues under men’s creative director Pharrell Williams, whose Spring/Summer 2027 Men’s Pre-Collection makes us secretly root for a downpour.

Premium practicality, perfected
With fluctuating weather as the starting point for the collection, practicality and utility take centre stage. This is evident in the 1980s-inspired workwear silhouette, with chore jackets debossed with Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram, and puffer jackets and gilets finished with suede and leather panels.
Elsewhere, Williams reinterprets the unmistakable nostalgia of the fisherman’s yellow slicker in supple calfskin, transforming utilitarian rainwear into a luxury statement piece.

Trompe-l’œil utility
Workwear continues to influence the collection, particularly through its use of denim. Trompe-l’œil techniques create a striking visual effect, with denim sets appearing distressed through mud-splashed gradients.
Silver-coated denim reflects the light as if fresh from a sudden downpour, while cashmere tailoring mimics denim, blurring the line between casual ease and refined elegance.

Character dressing
The collection’s narrative takes its most literal form in a cartoon print following a businessman on his travels. From the sunny streets of New York City to the shifting clouds of Paris, the panels, printed on shirts and laser-etched over denim, unfold like a visual diary.
It introduces just the right touch of playful animation, a lightness that balances Williams’ otherwise precise, dapper approach to design.

Bags, bags, bags
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Louis Vuitton collection without its bags. The classics are all here, from the Keepall to the Speedy, but they’ve been reimagined through the collection’s rain-soaked lens.
Umbrella-shaped stamps are applied to the signature Monogram canvas, while similar motifs appear subtly across the interiors. Elsewhere, 3D-printed raindrops and cloud-painted leather luggage tags add a tactile, whimsical finish.
