The 43-year-old – who launched her musical comeback at Sydney Mardi Gras earlier this year with new track Summer of Love, has promised the shows will feature a selection of her greatest hits as well as her new material.

“I can’t wait to get back to the UK and perform again! the former X Factor UK judge said. “The Sydney Mardi Gras show lit a fire within me and I knew I wanted to do some shows in the UK this year.

“Where better than the club I’ve played more times than anywhere else, G-A-Y, and the biggest gay festival of the year, Manchester Pride! It’s time to Press Play UK!”

Mark Fletcher, Chief Executive of Manchester Pride, said: “We’re hugely excited that Dannii will be appearing at The Big Weekend. We’ve been been working hard with our friends at G-A-Y to make this happen and we know the show will be a huge hit with our audience”.

Dannii has thirteen UK Top Twenty singles to her name, including hits like Put the Needle on ItI Begin to Wonder and All I Wanna Do. The singer currently serves as a judge on X Factor Australia, after previously serving as a judge on four series of the UK version of the show.

The former Home & Away star joins Manchester Pride’s Big Weekend’s already stellar lineup alongside acts like Texas, DJ Fresh, Sarah Harding, Atomic Kitten, Little Boots & Alesha Dixon. It’s already been confirmed that Lord of the Rings and X-Men star Sir Ian McKellen will serve as the Grand Marshal at this year’s Parade.

Manchester’s Big Weekend takes place from Friday 28 August to Monday 31 August. The full lineup is listed below, and to find out more you can visit them on Twitter or at their website.
