Brighton Pride: The events, the acts, and the all-important weather

We’re your weather girls and we’ve got news for you: it’ll be raining men, glitter and feathers at this year’s Brighton Pride – but the weather will be dry and sunny.
Put down your rainbow umbrellas and pac-a-macs, and put on your skimpiest vests, shortest shorts and pack the suntan lotion as we’re in for a warm and dry weekend.
This year’s theme is Carnival of Diversity, celebrating the LGBT community in the carnival spirit of Rio.
Friday (5 August) is the best day, highs of 20°C (68°F) and lows of 15°C (59°F) and sunny all day long. Perfect weather for checking-in with hilarious drag queen comedian Pam Ann from 7pm at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel, book your tickets here.
Saturday 6th August has highs of 20°C (68°F) and lows of 16°C (60.8°F) with sunny spells, making in not too hot when you strut your stuff in the Pride Community Parade. This year’s theme is Uniting Nations, campaigning for global LGBT+ rights, and many different national flag underpants.
If you’re not done partying, Brighton Pride Festival in Preston Park boasts acts Carly Rae Jepsen, Sister Sledge, Alesha Dixon, DJ Fresh and many more.
Sunday 7th August promises highs of 21°C (69.8°F) and lows of 14°C (57.2°F) and is a mostly overcast (but dry) affair. Try the Pride Village Party which is a celebration of Brighton Pride in the heart of the UK’s most vibrant city. The party runs from Saturday to Sunday (6-7 August) in Marine Parade, with entertainment zones dedicated to cabaret, bears and disco. Purchase your tickets to exchange for wristbands here.
Pride Pleasure Gardens are also running all weekend in Old Steine and Victoria Gardens, and will feature entertainment, Street Diner food market, bars and much more.
Even if the British weather does fail us, there’s the (indoor) Uniting Nations: The Exhibition at the Jubilee Library which runs for the whole Pride weekend.
