Kian Egan has announced details of his debut solo album.

The former Westlife singer – who won the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in December – will release his first collection of solo material on March 17.

Released via the Rhino UK label on St. Patrick’s Day (and just in time for Mother’s Day), the currently untitled album will feature tracks from Kian’s “personal playlist”.

Kian – who is a coach on The Voice of Ireland – is promising to put his own spin on some of his favourite songs.

“I am incredibly excited to be recording an album with Warner Music,” Kian said in a statement. “Music is my first love, and to be able to get in the studio to record these amazing songs by such wonderful writers is such a thrill and an honour for me.”

Dan Chalmers, President of Rhino UK, added: “It’s a huge pleasure to welcome Kian to the Warner Music family, we are thrilled. He’s such a terrific all-round performer, commanding audiences through his music and TV work, most notably of course with the phenomenal success with Westlife, arguably one of the best boy bands of all time. We’re delighted to be collaborating with Kian on the release of his debut solo album.”

Kian becomes the second member of Westlife – following Shane Filan – to release solo material since the group split in 2012.
