Watch | Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool wants you to touch yourself tonight

By Troy Nankervis

A new YouTube video sees Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds enthusiastically encourage men around the world to get to know their “happy sack” a little better, all in the name of men’s health.

“I’m sure you rummage downstairs more than mummy would like, but it’s time to start paying attention to your favourite pastime, because that bag of beans dancing around in your hand could be trying to kill you,” he says.

The amusing video clip carries a more serious message around the dangers of testicular cancer, the most common form of cancer in men aged between 15 and 49.

Reynolds explains in the clip how to also conduct a monthly self-assessment, and if at any point you “feel an unusual lump, a size shift or an irregularity”, it’s time to “man up talk to you doctor”.

Ballboys, the organisation behind the ‘Touch Yourself Tonight’ campaign has also published a number of resources and information for anyone concerned about, or directly affected by testicular cancer.
