Vladimir Putin vows to never allow same-sex parenting or marriage in Russia as long as he is president.
The Russian president has been a vocal opponent of LGBTQ rights and introduced the anti-gay propaganda law back in 2013.
And while speaking at a commission discussing reforms to Russia’s constitution, the renowned homophobe vowed never to allow same-sex parenting as long as he is president, Reuters reported.
He said: “As far as ‘parent number one’ and ‘parent number two’ goes, I’ve already spoken publicly about this and I’ll repeat it again: As long as I’m president this will not happen.
“There will be dad and mum.”
Putin was also asked to comment on a proposal to add a line in the constitution defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
He said: “We need only to think in what phrases and where to do this.”
