Tom Daley Perceptions of Him

By Will Stroude

In the latest issue of Attitude we get to see a different side of Tom Daley – not least one that keeps his clothes on for a change! However, he says that he’s trying to change people’s perceptions of him, showing that it’s not all about his body.

“I do Spanish classes, I’ve done a camera-operating and film editing course. I like to be busy, I’m not someone who likes to do just one thing. Having stuff outside of diving really helps me take my mind off things.”

However, Daley is fully aware that a lot of gay culture in the past has focused on sex and body image, but believes that things are changing.

“Back then marriage wasn’t allowed. So, who knew that you could be looking towards getting married? In the future they’ll be looking to get married and have a family.

“Things have changed massively. Who knows what it’s going to be like in 30 or 40 years from now?”

You can read the full interview with Tom and see his exclusive new shoot in Attitude’s Body Issue, available to download and in shops now. Available internationally from newsstand.co.uk/attitude.
