This adorable video game-inspired proposal will make your day

By Troy Nankervis

An avid video gamer has proposed to his boyfriend in the cutest way possible, after using their shared love for Nintendo classic The Legend of Zelda into the proposal.

James Beach was surrounded by close friends and family when his partner Ben Cary unveiled a surprise celebration to mark his 30th birthday, reports New Now Next.

“He threw a surprise 30th birthday party for me in our favourite bar last night,” James wrote on Reddit.

“All of our best friends were present, and his whole family flew in from the opposite coast.

“I opened this amazing gift full of cute hand drawings representing our various adventures together, and at the end he’s down on one knee.”

Ben, who orchestrated the proposal, also wrote of his happiness from the evening.

“I’m the lucky guy who gets to spend the rest of my life with this dude.”

Beach says the engagement ring was a tungsten carbide ring, engraved with the Triforce symbol popularised in the Legend of Zelda video games.

And while wedding plans are still being finalised, he James added the wedding rings would also carry the video game motif.

“The wedding band will be made of Meteorite and wood from bourbon barrels,” he said.
