A teenager has been stabbed outside a LGBTQ youth hostel in Tel Aviv.

According to the Times of Israel, the 16-year-old boy – who lives in the Beit Dror centre – was stabbed in the chest and leg by a man leaving a car.

The attacker fled before emergency services arrived where the teen was rushed to Ichilov hospital in a serious condition.

Reports claim that the attacker was the victim’s elder brother.

The Israeli LGBTI Youth Organisation (IGY) wrote on Facebook: “We pray for the wellbeing of the wounded and stand with Beit Dror on this difficult. The stabbing was not coincidental.

“This is a hate crime against the LGBTQ community. There is a price for the insinuations and LGBTphobia we hear every day.”
