Taron Egerton has called for people to donate £5 to help with proper HIV/Aids testing.

The actor has joined the new AIDSfree campaign the Independent newspaper to help raise money for the Elton John Aids Foundation to boost awareness and testing of the virus.

While promoting the campaign, Egerton – who recently cleared up any confusion about his sexuality – told the newspaper: “It’s day five of the 12 Days of Christmas and I’m throwing my support behind the AIDSfree campaign.

“I am asking for your help and support with this. Five pounds is all it takes to make sure that someone gets the proper testing for HIV and Aids and will hopefully help us end this awful disease.”

The actor joins the likes of James Corden and Victoria Beckham in the campaign.
