STA Travel is no longer selling Royal Brunei Airlines flights following capital punishment law
The Asian kingdom invoked the law to start whipping and stoning gay men to death

STA Travel has revealed they are no longer selling Royal Brunei Airlines flights.
This week, the tiny Asian kingdom invoked a law to start whipping and stoning gay men to death as well as amputating adulterers.
Following the news, there has been a worldwide outcry from celebrities and the LGBTQ community calling for the country and everything it owns – the Sultan of Brunei owns a number of hotels around the world – to be boycotted.
And now, the travel agent STA Travel – which has headquarters in Zurich and London and claims to be the world’s largest travel company for students and young people – have cut ties with Royal Burnei Airlines.
In a statement, STA Travel wrote: “We’re proud of our open and diverse culture and we expect our partners to demonstrate the same.
“We do not support in any way the laws being introduced in Brunei (including on Brunei-registered aircraft and vessels).
“Because of this we have stopped selling Royal Brunei Airlines flights.
“Anybody who bought Royal Brunei Airlines tickets through STA Travel and who no longer wants to use them can claim a refund, and we will help those customers to make alternative travel arrangements.
“We’ve taken this stance to add our voice to the calls on Brunei to reverse this change in the law and in support of LGBTQI people everywhere.”
