Spanish police arrest man who threatened anti-gay mass shooting
Spanish police confirmed yesterday (September 3) that they arrested a 36-year-old man who was threatening an anti-gay mass shooting in Barcelona.
The man possessed a pistol which he showed off in YouTube videos and urged people to shoot members of the LGBT community.
Xinhuanet reports that the unnamed man is reported to have shared 31 videos where he talks about having 13 days to ‘prepare’ for a homosexual party in Barcelona.
His videos have now been taken down from YouTube but reports state that he used other social media sites such as Twitter to urge people to commit hate crimes against members of the LGBT community.
The 36-year-old could face up to four years in jail as well as a fine between 600 and 30,000 euros.
