Police in Flirdau say that have arrested a man over an alleged plot to kidnap Lana Del Rey.

Michael Hunt, 43, was carrying a knife when he was arrested near the Amway Center in Orlando on Friday (February 2) just hours before the singer was due to perform at the venue, authorities said.

Police were tipped off after Hunt reportedly made “cryptic and threatening” posts on social media. Authorities confirmed that he had not made any direct contact with the ‘Video Games’ singer prior to his arrest.

Hunt faces charges of aggravated stalking with a credible threat, and attempted kidnapping with a weapon.

“When he was taken into custody, Hunt was in possession of tickets to the Lana Del Rey performance and a knife,” the Orlando Police Department said in a statement on Twitter.

“On Friday, OPD determined this was a credible threat and worked swiftly to ensure the safety of everyone involved and of everyone who attended the show.”

Del Rey is yet to respond publicly to the incident, but thanked fans for coming to the Orlando show on social media following the gig.
