Police hunt for transgender woman allegedly responsible for setting fire to Canadian gender clinic

By Fabio Crispim

Montreal’s Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie is the only specialist clinic that provides gender services for transgender people in Canada.

Gay Star News reports that earlier this month however, the clinic was attacked when someone set fire to it and police are now searching for a woman who is wanted in connection to the attack.

The 42-year-old transgender woman from Kelowna cannot be located but is allegedly wanted for charges that include arson with a disregard for a human life, breaking and entering and arson by negligence.

According to the Montreal Journal, Heideck had undergone treatment at the clinic but was upset with the staff.

The clinics damages are estimated to be about $700,000 (Around £479,000) but the staff members and patients were all unharmed.
