Phillip Schofield is the most Googled celebrity in the UK in 2020, according to newly released data.

Which, given the huge interest in the This Morning star’s coming out post on Instagram in February, isn’t that big of a surprise.

The news follows the release of Google’s annual Year in Search lists today – and as per, it makes for fascinating reading.

LGBTQ stars also occupy the second and third spots on the UK-specific list of Googled celebs for the year.

Behind Schofield is Tiger King‘s Carole Baskin, who recently took part in Dancing With the Stars and confirmed she identifies as bisexual.

In third place is Tiger King‘s Joe Exotic, who is currently in prison and identifies as gay. (We somehow doubt he’s happy Carole trumped him).

The full list of celebs Googled in the UK is as follows:

1 Phillip Schofield
2 Carole Baskin
3 Joe Exotic
4 Jordan North
5 Elon Musk
6 Prince Harry
7 Kanye West
8 Ruthie Henshall
9 Johnny Depp
10 Tom Hanks

Netflix’s Tiger King was also the most searched for TV show globally in 2020, while Pete Buttigieg was the most searched LGBTQ politician in the US. (Fourth overall behind Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Boris Johnson).

In the UK, the top LGBTQ-releated searches were:

1 Transgender meaning
2 Bi flag
3 Conversion therapy
4 Lesbian flag
5 Bisexual meaning
6 Pansexual meaning
7 Marsha P Johnson
8 Rock Hudson
9 Cisgender meaning
10 Pride flags
