The City of Orlando has released a series of chilling and graphic photos of Pulse nightclub in the aftermath of the massacre which saw gunman Omar Mateen embarked on a rampage.

49 people were killed at the club as Mateen entered the LGBT venue in the early hours of June 12 and open fired on party-goers.

Mateen was eventually killed following a shootout with the police at the club.

Earlier this week, Mateen’s wife, Noor Salman, was arrested by the FBI and has been charged with misleading police on the day of the attack.

Officials say Salman knowingly took steps to obstruct the police investigation into the massacre, and that her claims she was coerced due to her husband’s abusive behaviour do not stand up.

According to Gay Star News, over 400 new photos of the club were released on Thursday (January 18) and shows the damage inflicted on the club including bullet holes.

Following the massacre, the One Orlando Fund was founded to help survivors and the families of the victims and has since raised just under $30 million.
