Northern Ireland send giant Christmas card to Santa asking for equal marriage

By Fabio Crispim

Christmas is just weeks away, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to send Santa a Christmas wish-list!

Northern Ireland same-sex campaigners think so as they’ve sent a massive Christmas card to Santa asking for equal marriage.

Love Equality, a group calling for equal marriage, revealed their giant card and encouraged shoppers to sign it.

The card read, “Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is equality.”

According to Gay Star News, an estimated number of 300 people have signed the card so far.

James O’Doherty from the Love Equality campaign said, “Christmas is a time for families, for celebrating the time that we spend together and reflecting on the past year. We want to spread a message of equality and inclusion this Christmas.”

“That is why we are asking people to get involved in the campaign for marriage equality and make a big impact by signing our huge Christmas card to ask Santa to bring us marriage equality for Christmas.”

Northern Ireland is the only country within the UK that has yet to legalise same-sex marriage despite a whopping 70% of people supporting it.
