A new social app for gay men called GiFi launched yesterday (February 28).

Titled GiFi, the app bill itself as “the next-generation social app that aims to change forever the way gay men chat, network and meet-up”.

GiFi has numerous functions and can be used to build a support network, find new friends, stay in touch with existing friends and look for a job. Of course, it can also be used to arrange a date or hook-up.

GiFi users are able to browse the 500 nearest guys – to a location of their choice – who match their interests, preferences and current mood. One-on-one chat and group messaging functions are both available.

GiFi is downloadable for free and runs on any iPhone operating iOS 6.0 or later and any Android phone operating 3.0. GiFi membership is free but premium packages are available at prices ranging from £1.49 to £29.99. The first 10,000 guys to download GiFi will automatically receive lifetime premium membership.

GiFi promises to donate a portion of profits to its preferred charities, which include the London Lesbian & Gay Switch Board. More information is available at MyGiFi.com.
